Wellcome to future business
With more workplaces than inhabitants, Glostrup is a genuine business municipality. And the number of workplaces is expected to rise by up to 25 % by 2015.
Glostrup Municipality aims to create the right framework for companies, who require flexibility in relation to their premises, expansion and growth.
Glostrup is home to both manufacturing and knowledge-based industries, and will in the future represent an obvious alternative to locating companies in Copenhagen Port or Ørestad.
On track
The former shunting area by the station represents a site with enormous development potential for mixed commercial, service industry, public sector and residential use.
Financial centre
Glostrup' s business community is mainly based on the Ejby industrial estate, while service industries and the retail trade are concentrated around the town centre.
More than 60 % of the workplaces are in private and public sector service industries; several banks, for example, have chosen to locate their regional head offices in Glostrup - and more are on the way.
Glostrup's ideal geography, its proximity to Copenhagen and the Øresund Region, and the excellent transport infrastructure have also attracted many transport and logistics companies, as well as major wholesalers.
New knowledge-based companies have also found their way to the West Copenhagen Region, and many of these are located in Glostrup. Other types of large international companies have also chosen to locate in our municipality.
Ideal catchment area
In the retail trade, too, Glostrup's excellent accessibility is a boon to all. The customer base here reaches far beyond the municipal boundaries, as many people from Albertslund, Vallensbæk and Brøndby also shop in the town centre.
