About Glostrup

Glostrup – an attractive commercial centre – a pleasant town to live in!

On the occasion of Glostrup’s 800th anniversary in 1991, we made Glostrup, always on the move our slogan, and the description still fits! We can boast a high level of enterprise: residential expansion including private initiatives as well as social housing, and local companies at full throttle. The economic trends are good and this is reflected in Glostrup too, where current growth results in high employment figures and business earnings.

Glostrup is the municipality in Denmark with the highest number of jobs in proportion to its population. One of the reasons is its advantageous location, close to the motorway network and with excellent links to all corners of the world.

The number of large companies in Glostrup increases steadily, and our trading estates allow for further expansion, not least in the areas close to the railway station.

Our own citizens too have excellent reasons for staying in Glostrup. We have more than 10,000 high quality domestic housing units, and more on the way.  We have many recreational areas, woods and parks as well as a wide range of activities arranged by a diversity of associations.

We are committed to the slogan

Glostrup puts culture at the top of the agenda.

The municipality has dedicated 41% of its land to recreation, including swimming baths, four sport halls, a sports centre and stadium, tennis courts, training facilities and woods.

Glostrup carries on responding to pressures and needs.

Best regards

Søren Enemark

Mayor
